THE SWEETEST WELCOME HOME
My friend Louises' 5th grade class in Florida. They prayed for me everyday and followed my Mission to Haiti. How sweet is that! Thank You guys. I always felt your prayers. Blessings, Cory
Welcome home. This almost seems a trite thing to say considering where you have been, what you have seen and experienced, what you have accomplished, and all the emotions that you must be feeling. As you said in this morning's post "my heart was and is, constantly breaking". And having read all that you wrote while there I can certainly understand this, and my heart goes out to you.
Though you haven't heard a peep out of me, I did read all you wrote and the comments of your readers. Incredible. The conditions there, the people living there, the people helping there, all of it...just incredible. And as you convey quite well, knowing what's happening and being right of the middle of it with all senses working (sight, smell, etc.) are two very different things.
Not sure what else to say. On behalf of Humankind I sincerely thank you for your service and dedication to humanity. Amen.
Thank you so much for sharing this experience with me. I certainly have a new appreciation for this disaster from all you have reported. It's awful there isn't more we can force their government to do. I don't get it and surely neither do many. What I can't get over is this; the Haitians all look so great in their clothes. No matter the destruction around them. Glad you went and glad you returned, though I am sure changed forever.
I am a practicing RN in Westchester County, NY. For years, I have devoted my time, energy and skills to alleviate suffering and educate people about serious medical and humanitarian issues. I am an active fundraiser for many charitable organizations, and most recently have taken up the cause of the Haitian people following the devastating earthquake on January 12, 2010. I have been on several missions to Haiti where I have provided and directed medical care and distributed medical supplies to those most in need. I am committed to raise awareness as well as money to provide the children of Haiti with ongoing financial and medical support focusing on education.
What a great example you set for them!
ReplyDeleteVery glad you are home safe and sound.
